About Therapy

2048241071Before we get started, take a pause.

Gently close your eyes or softly gaze right in front of you.

Breathe in for eight… hold for eight… and release for eight.

Now, repeat this cycle one more time.

Very good. Now… isn’t that better??

Just hearing the word “therapy”…

…can be daunting and heavy, especially if you’re sad, angry, worried, or afraid.

Yet you’re here. You’re pushing through… probably because you have a sense of how it can help you change for the better.

Going it alone isn’t working. It’s hard to make sense of life when you’re carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders.

1827461507Naturally, you have questions…

How can I trust this person I’ve just met?

Do I have to spill it all during that first appointment?

Do I lie on a couch like they do in the movies??

It’s no mystery. We’ll have a conversation (you can sit wherever you like), and I’ll use the techniques I learned in school and my experience treating trauma and chronic pain to guide you toward healing and growth.

It might take a minute to feel settled.

That’s because you’re entering a therapeutic space with positive energy.

Often, your mind, body, and soul hold on to negative and toxic energy from trauma and pain. Feeling unworthy takes a toll on all aspects of your being.

But when you’re here…

You’ll be with someone who gets it.

I’m an Aries, and the one thing Aries are known for is we’re not afraid to stand in the fire and battle against resistance – just like the Phoenix. So, if you feel some resistance… that’s okay!

Give it a few sessions. By our fifth meeting, you’ll be able to appreciate what true healing and transformation can look and feel like.

You’ll be a true believer that change and a better life are possible!

And you can get started right now! Give me a call, and we’ll schedule your free consultation: (910) 212-6477.

About Me

AdminI originally went to college to become a teacher.

But I quickly discovered that I wanted to do more to help than teach. So, I went into social work.

I got my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from UNC-Wilmington and my Master of Social Work from East Carolina University.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I’ve learned many personal and professional lessons, the most important of which is how to remain true to my authentic self.

The path wasn’t always easy…

I’ve been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which complicated my fertility journey. Infertility and miscarriages have made for a painful road for my husband and me.

I will remain an advocate and provide support when it comes to PCOS, infertility, pregnancy loss, and perinatal/postpartum maternal healthcare.

My husband and I now live in Wilmington, North Carolina, with our two daughters (ages 2 and 3) and our German Shepherd, Axel.
